Time for some feedback
Mar

Hey all. Two things. First is, I need your feedback on something for the ModTheater. As you can see, the ModTheater logo cycles through a series of taglines, but they're getting old, so it's time to change them up a bit. We currently have

Ban players from they're games by the sole reason that player had complain about they're games. Confused? Should be.

And the blame is all ours, for allow such companies take obtrusive features on games.
New MoH will stink but beware, think twice if you got another game in your EA account, when going to say something about it anywhere; EA has eyes everywhere.
All praise the might publisher and his beloved games. Continue reading...

Crysis 2 gets leaked onto the Internet
Feb

According to several sources, Crysis 2 has been leaked some 49 days before its expected launch. Screenshots are popping up on various forums. The CryEngine 3 Editor has been rumored to have also been leaked. If that's not bad enough, key DRM files have been leaked as well, which handles online activation of the game. While I cannot officially comment on Crytek's behalf, I can only imagine that they're a bit upset about the whole thing. If any developer could be considered PC friendly, it would have to be Crytek. This is such an awful way for the PC community to show their gratitude. Continue reading...
Call of Duty "pay-to-play" platform is coming
Feb

I told you guys this was coming. The only way to defeat it is not to play multiplayer. "Activision said they are working on 'value added, premium content that is exclusive,'" Pachter said. "How do you exclude people unless you do it on the basis of whether they pay or not? What are you going to have a bouncer in front of the club where you play the content? The only way it's exclusive is if it excludes non-paying members," Pachter added. " More on the story can be found at Tech Report. Continue reading...

Feb

And the modding goes on... A brave Russian mod team has challenged themselves to port the whole of GSC’s survival horror, STALKER, into Crysis’ more advanced engine. The project’s called Cryzone – Sector 23, and is far along enough for the team to have released a video of the mod in action.

Crysis 2 multiplayer demo

A demo for PC will be out before release of game. A little disturbing for me is that they mention and show a controller for a console. I also don't like the "perks" crap carried over from all those other loser games. Anyway, the video is below. Very informative on what to expect.

New console tech will only cost consumers more money
Feb

"It still costs us a fortune to make games on this platform," he said. "If they're going to up the scale, up the art, up the content, I don't know how to make that and sell it to anybody for under $100 a game. Who wants to do that? It's bad for everybody." Read more about why console developers aren't excited about a new generation of console technologies. Continue reading...
EA cancels Battlefield 1943 for PC
Feb
03
Apparently EA has canceled the PC port for Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2: Onslaught Mode to focus on Battlefield 3. It is surprising that in almost two years they failed to make an exe and a few dlls for a game that uses the same engine as the PC-ported BC2. Shame on you EA. Continue reading...
Portal 2 to be cross plataform & full mod support
Jan

XBox 360 still on limbo regarding that news, because it restrictive on line system. But PS3, PC and MACs are going to taste the flavor of cross platforming and modding from day one with full SteamWork suport, that means with you buy on PC you can play on PS3 or "XBox". On a new maneuver Valve seems to take the head once again in game distribution and services. With the launch of Portal 2, Steam will premier its complete package on the console market allowing, among others, to small devs (moders and indies) a easy entry to that segment too. Come on Microsoft, your GFW is a pile of... Continue reading...
