Taking lean out

Hi

How i can disable the lean move in a server side of mohaa?
My goal is make a server side mod thats disable the annoying lean... exist some script that can allow this?

lean while running can be disabled via a dmflag (in case you didnt know, but you probably did). i have no idea if leaning alltogether can be elminated but im pretty sure it cant.

Why would you want to take lean out?

It's the difference between players who can play and those that can't.

I ran a server for several years and learnt that those that moaned about leaners were cheating or just rubbish.

I never mastered leaning (i've only got 10 fingers :P) but I was always in awe of those that could.

I always thought it was an aspect of moh that gave it an edge over the others.

Maybe I'm wrong ?? Comments?

I'll never have a problem with those that have mastered that art. I can't run lean to save my life. The problem I have is the double binders with no skill flopping around like a fish out of water. It just looks absurb, but it helps me with my aim. lol.

I don't think there is a dmflag for AA for that.

Once, i remember, we joined randomly a server with nagle and people start to accuse me of leaning, and that i could be kicked if continued. So i said what the hell? The server turned out to be "no leaning" .. (you were able to do it but not suppose to ) it was the first time i saw something like that in AA. Weird indeed. Anyway,

Real men lean with their fingers. I guess it might be possible to take the DMflag and edit it some way to disable leaning. But I gotta agree it would really hamper the gameplay.

Didn't elgan write a script to detect when people were using lean & strafe binds?

Btw, I recomend getting a nostromo n52 or a Saitek Command Unit to make leaning easyer. When I used a keyboard I had move on the arrow keys, and lean on shift and numpad 1. Requires some fancy fingerwork to lean and move indipendantly, but is comes naturaly after a bit of practice.

left arrow=strafe left
right arrow=strafe right

left mouse=lean left
right mouse=lean right
middle mouse=jump
mouse scroll up= next weapon
mouse scroll down= previous wep

makes leaning and strafing so easy.

Elgan tried, but ultimately he said no to detection. It's one of my pet peeves is all.

I have the original Nostromo and used it with UT2003.

i tried another way and i think it is very posssible to detect at least with some accuracy.

for example, u cud detect if they are leaning left when move lefta nd see if they do that eevrytime they move left + kick, points system.

however i didnt ever make it, tho it wud be possible to script.

my first try was crap.

i actualy made the script above with +lean thing, grr, why, i like lean, think its a skill.

also if a player without bind who leans and moves at the same time, they could maybe get kicked too, i doubt i ever move without leaning even if im just walking. so it may not work or be %100, so i didnt bother making it.

would love a Nostromo ! just cant bring myself to buy one.

I just love it when those little fairy lean dancers come running at me, thinking their all that....I just aim at their nuts, and put them down hard!!!

What I hate is that friggun speed hack thing....one guy on the server running three times faster than anyone else.

is a speed hack possible? i thought speed was controlled ENTIRELY by the server...

I dont know what it is, but in BT servers, there are 2 or 3 players that can run at almost 3 times what everyone else does...(trust me, I use bolt rifles only.) and my game depends on judging run speeds.

I have to be able to judge where a guy is gonna be when my shot should connect.
These guys, will run right past 4 guys, and not stop till out of sight.
All four guys will be good shooters, and you simply can't hit them....they run to fast! (no not the normal put holster your weapons speed..)
