No dedicated servers for Battlefield Bad Company 2

Bad news guys... Ever since Activision announced that Modern Warfare 2 would not be getting dedicated server support, there has been significant portion of players that have moved their attention to EA’s upcoming multiplayer shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The publisher has now caused an upset by announcing that the PC version of Bad Company 2 will not be getting modding tools, and furthermore that it will not distribute dedicated server software to the public. This means you won't be able to host your own server using your own server hardware, however you will still be able to rent one - unlike in the much publicized Call of Duty 6 system. The vast majority of dedicated servers are rented by the admins, rather than run. With all these blows to PC gaming, how much longer do you think it will be around? More about the dedicated server let down here.

Talking about the Frostbite 1 and upcoming Frostbite 2 game engine here. I'm not sure what the new MoH is going to use.

Version 1.x is used for Battlefield: Bad Company 1, Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It supports Xbox 360, PS3 and DirectX 10. DICE is working on the Frostbite 2 engine at the moment that will support DirectX 10.1 and DirectX 11 as well. DICE is very proud of the parallelized engine since 2-8 parallel threads are supported for using full capacity of a Core i7 e.g..

Check out the Specs. Ouch!

Just looking into this a little deeper. I wonder what sort of price they will be charging for a Dedicated Server?

On the other side , I really didn't expect them to release the modding tools anyways so that's not a big shock.

I dont really had any real expectation for this tittle, but if they port it to the new MoH; well actually my hopes for the new has just drop to the botton now.
