Hi guys, i recommended this program to General Death on MSN. So i thought i'd share it with everyone. Since BF2 is based on models. You can design your buildings in this nice piece of software, where you then export it into a .3ds and do all your exporting stuff. The program is used to design 3d architechture for building plans etc. But can be used for all sorts. To find out more information check out the site here at. http://sketchup.com download the trial here: http://www.sketchup.com/?title=download page Here is an example of something you can do with it. It's easy to texture aswell, you just import your texture to the material browser and apply it to the selected face. Then you would need to sort out all your exporting stuff so it loads the textures. You can find video tutorials here. http://download.sketchup.com/downloads/training/tutorials50/Sketchup Video Tutorials.html
Sketchup ftw! The computer modding community has been using this app for a few years now to mockup new designs and parts. Good to see yet another use for it. Good find Dan.
Great looking tool! Thanks for sharing Dan :zzohyah: Not the modeller myself (yet) but will have to get some hours on this program...
I think this thread was before Google bought sketchup. FYI you dont need pro to export your model. There is a blender importer that works with the export that is in the standard edition and from blender you can export anything.
