Plane map (battle for Britain) multiplayer

Players spawn as fighter planes..(progressive spawn points near teammates)

    Objectives

    Axis
The axis must guard (escort) five bombers (AI rail vehicles) to the coast, on their way to bomb London durring the blitz....(if any of the axis bombers reach the target axis wins)

    Allies
British spitfires must kill the five bombers, while dogfighting the escort planes to win.

Secondary win controlled by spawnpool, run out of fighters, your team loses.

    Tank battle map...(tamming the tiger)

players spawn as tanks, (progressive spawnpoints near team.)

African tank battles rage near a small town, Allies defend the town from an onslaught of panzer tanks moving down from a rocky hillside.

    Objectives

Capture the flag in the center of the small town.

Secondary objective, exaust the other teams spawnpool, run out of tanks, you lose.....

No, not really, at this point, Im just tossing some Idea's around....
I think having seperate vehicle maps, instead of mixing the regular player maps with vehicles (BF2) would be a good Idea....

Having a good tank battle, or dogfight map, would simply add a new dimension to MOHA....(yet not bother the regular gameplay we already love in the moh series) adding invincable tanks, ruins a good gun battle map.

Well, whatever turns you on. But, cod2 had a level where you could have tank warfare. Was the worse part of the map. They should have had another "land-based" map.....would have been more fun, instead made me wish it was over quick.......... Driving vehicles suck imo.

I agree. Keep vehicles and infantry separate. CoD UO multiplayer sucks because of the vehicles. :\ And CoD sucks in general. :p

do you realy think they will have working vehicles in MOHA, when they release it? they sayd they had working vehicles in MOHPA, but we all know how that ended up. no drivable vehicles when we finaly got the game, and when we did get them to work, they didnt drive very well, at all.

they were cut because of time limit, we knew the drivable vehicles wouldnt be there. Also they were probably planning on releasing a patch with them.

Point is they never did, therefore looked like mugs to the modding/community.

We did get nine vehicles working, which wasn't bad.....(thanks to piratedan for figuring out the activation line)

All of the vehicles would have worked in MOHPA if we had known the activation lines for them....

All that would have remained was tweeking the vehicles mass to tracktion, and power....(not really that hard...)

I don't think MOH has really ever been about vehicular combat - it's always been about the individual, and I think that's why it was so damn successful. The last thing we want is another BF1942.

I'm open to new things, so I think if they did do vehicular combat, it'd have to be pretty damn unique to MOH.

That is why I suggested "vehicle only maps" not mixing vehicles in the standard player maps....

If you are trying to bomb London, your crossing over water....pretty hard to have ground combat in the channel isn,t it???

Im suggesting 2 custom vehicle maps, and I very seriously doubt a couple of custom maps will ruin the entire MOH series...:suspect:

No mate I didn't suggest they would, and the fact you're already suggesting map ideas is great; I'm just saying MOH isn't naturally vehicle-orientated.

I do however think there are a lot of fancy ideas possible with the airdrop - that in its own right sounds like a lot of fun.

    I have reservations about para-multiplayer....
As much s some players like to spawnkill you definitely would not want to respawn as a paratrooper.
Could you imagine respawning (ala-paratrooper) and having 3 or 4 spawnkillers doggging your spawnpoints?
Especially if EA dosn't allow you to fire your weapons while in the parachute!!!

For the opening spawn parachutes would be fine though, but keep in mind the time your hanging out to dry, ""YOU ARE A TARGET""
You would also need to make rooftops available to axis, having half the allied team hiding on rooftops, that you cannot get to would really promote camping!!!

I think para-multiplayer could be a fun idea, but the map maker would need to give the map layout, play styles, and fairness to teams a lot of thought.

That's a good point, but it's quite illinformed with the little information we have been given.

I'd hazzard a guess people in the air would be invincible until they hit ground. This seems the only logical step - that or they're either shrouded by darkness/fog/mist whatever (though this doesn't account for daytime missions, so probably isn't the solution), or that the weapons aren't effective at that range (probably not either). We could speculate for ages, but I trust they'll find an effective way to do it.

Might even be like Omaha - the first wave spawns out of planes (leave Axis with not enough time to get in position to attack them anyway) and then once a certain depot's been secured, ground reinforcements are available.

I just hope they script the whole "parachute thing"...
As long as its scripted, and not hard coded into the game, we here at TMT can fix it....(if there is a problem)

That is one of the greatest things about the MOH series, the amount of stuff thats scripted gives you lots of room to play, and improve....

depends on what sort of script language we get. wouldnt of thought parachutes would be difficult to script.

as far as i know the paradrop in moha, will be singlke player .

i would imagine like sh and logicaly, also like omaha , they just dont shoot at you until your down.

I've seen you write this EVERYWHERE now, so I finally feel compelled to make the slight correction, here...

I can only assume that you mean "Taming the Tiger," as in domesticating a wild beast. It's just the one "M"

I don't think a vehicle based map is a good idea at all, especially for the title "Airborne", theme going along with that. Intricate french towns and villages would be great, with attention to smaller details and objects that would be present. I wouldn't care so much to see the usuals like Carentan and what not as these have been covered twice in the Call of Duty series already.

Uhhhh, so your saying airplanes in """airborne"" is a bad Idea?????;)

    Okie dokie...

What Im sugesting is vehicles in a few custom maps, not making the entire game about vehicles...

I would just like to be able to "as a change of pace" goto a mod server and dogfight WWII style once in a while...
