It may or may not. There's only one way to find out. If you gotta uninstall the new and reinstall the old drivers it'll take only a few minutes to do so.

If you read, you'll see what fixes the updated drivers take care of. If you don't play those games, or have problems with the issues at hand, you don't need to download them.

158.22 spearhead works ok on XP and 64 bit pro except every time i hit apply settings in spearhead on 64 bit it crashes 2 the desktop, but i can load maps and seems 2 work ok and the single player works fine. Just make sure 2 use driver cleaner pro 2 clean up all drivers before installing.

    nVidia drivers version number ranges?

On nVidia's site, to download a driver, you select 1 value in each of 3 listboxes, the last one being the OS. Everytime 1 select XP/2000 and the available driver for my selection is now 94.24.
Today I read on a forum a new beta Forceware for XP as been released. It has the version number of 162.18 :suspect:. I also read something like "...but 162.18 is only XP compatible, while preceding versions where also Vista compatible...."
So, are the >100.00 versions only for Vista or for both XP and Vista, and in this case, why is the site proposing only 9x.xx version for XP?
See what I try to mean?

They did release a version 162.15 for vista and xp but they where recalled due 2 a bug. But now have released 162.18 for xp only and not yet released the vista diver.

I downloaded the latest beta driver, the 162.22 or something like that. The next day it was taken off the site. Couldn't figure out why because my 64bit xp machine played really good. The next time I booted up it kept crashing. The xxx.18 drivers seem to work good though.

Do you know of any recent driver for nVidia / XP that can play both AA and SHBT? Some can handle AA but not SHBT, others SHBT but not AA . Last working one I know is 91.47 :(.

Depends on the card. drivers for the 8800 have conflicts with my 7800's. I run older drivers on a few machines.

ATI is another. Gotta use different drivers for the x850xt than with the newer cards.

Ran some tests on the new drivers with my quad 7950 gx2 and gain 10 fps in crysis. Older games stayed mostly the same so it doesn't look like any of the new quad sli profiles for the recent gx2 have been passed down to the older generation.

seems these drivers added some good crysis support especially for quad setups (old and new)

not happy.... .74 killed one of my 7950GX2s :awcrap: The other might be in bad shape too because I'm getting artifacts at times. What happened - the new drivers F*ed up my fan control on the cards and they didn't speed up as the cards got hotter. One of the cards - the still living one - had another fan blowing over it, but the bottom card was left undefended. After playing for 20 min or so my system totally locked up and on reboot my desktop was nothing but an artifact wave. I started swapping out cards and found one would no longer even post while the other would get me to desktop fine. I then, using nvidia's monitor, ran 3dmark - needless to say temperatures started spiking pretty fast and it crashed. I reverted back to my old drivers and manually have the fans going at 100% all the time but my games will still go to hell after a while.

I highly recommend anyone who installed these on 7xxx series cards to monitor their temps and fans.
