I just picked up a 9600 GT (should be here today) to pass the time until the card I want drops in price (never ending cycle I know) .... how do games like Spearhead run with the new drivers (if you know). I still play Breakthrough and know about the nhancer bit it get it working. I haven't owned a Nvidia card since the fx5600.
There was a short stint where a few of the drivers wouldn't let you see some textures but that has been taken care of. I thought about sli'ing a couple of those cards a couple of times but I keep talking myself out of it...lol Which one did you get ?
MSI N9600GT 512M OC GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 I'm just entering the world of pci-e so I figure this budget card will do me for a little while at least.
Well like the reviewers say it's rather large. I'm putting it in a full size case so I wasn't worried about that. However, it's probably just the layout of my motherboard but I don't feel I could squeeze two of these on there if I wanted to. The main reason is the feet of backplate that supports the heatsink sticks out too far. I have a 1x pci-e soundcard and the feet are pushing that card at an angle. The other 1x pci-e slot is covered by the heatsink. I've never seen a backplate with feet like that before.

I reformatted and installed somes games. I installed MoHAASHBT first then more recent games. At the begining, when MoH was alone with Grid on my comp, I had no aliasing problems in MoH but that's a few days now I get unbearable aliasing in MoH only. I have the 175.16 nVidia driver (and would like to keep this one) for a 8800gts512, under XP SP2. Whatever 3D setting I try to increase or force the game to use, in the nVidia setting panel, doesn't seem to have any effects on the aliasing. I installed the latest DX9.0c, still the same. Before I reinstall the game, do you have any advice, or is there something I should check? (I play through BT) **edit** ok I reinstalled the 175.16, it's allright now.
