There have been plenty of war games before this - even the CoD franchise has put out about eight of them - but nothing compares to World at War. It's so realistic, it's spooky. I thought that you guys might like to know that if you haven't already bought this game that you are missing out on "one of the best games ever made"!!! Based on this article I know I'll be rushing right out and getting my copy before they are all sold out.
Not sure I would go that far but have enjoyed the pacific campaigns, think they did a better job did than EA did with pacific assault. Just a shame they are too short.
The latest PC Gamer didn't give it that great of a rating (and they gave Hell's Highway a 93% I believe).
At $54.99 I'm going to wait for the price drop before I purchase it regardless of what some "best game ever" journalist prints. lol I've been doing a bunch of research on it and based on that I've decided that I can wait. Plus as alluded to by Herr Klugscheisser that gives them time to try and work out some of the bugs...still, I would like to try it though. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.
Remember, no patch until next year and the Linux binaries have not been released (nor a date given as far as I know).
Well we know he has never been to war before. And I think the game sucks and was a waste of my downloading bandwidth. I mean off steam or something of course, yea. I hate sites like Gamespot sometimes. You see a game you actually thought was a good game and they give it a 6 or 7, and then the next big game comes out that is just like the one before it gets a 9.5.
Read and watched much about CoD5 and still don't know if I have to buy it. According to what I watched, I must buy it, but the readings don't state of the awesome artistic graphics. I almost only play online. Does the online side get dismembering, awesome death animations, cruelty and blood eveywhere :crazy:? Is the available space as closed and frustating as CoD4 MP is ? My problem is it looks so beautiful and intense, but nobody says it's beautiful . And beautiful graphics is what I want über alles.
The graphics are nice, if that's all you care about. Yes people are dismembered by explosives in MP. The tank maps are "medium" to "large" by Treyarch's standards, but Admins can turn off the tanks. There is a lot to like and a lot not to like depending on what you look for in a game. I would wait until the patch comes out and then see what people have to say. If all you care about is ranking up fast and getting all your weapons the easy way I would say get it before the patch because they claim they will fix it then. Like any other online experience the game is only as good as the people you play with (sans glitchers/exploiters). It's decent and fun for the most part, but I really don't see myself playing it much a year from now, but I was never a CoD fan to begin with.

I strictly play on bolt servers, I find the Springfield hard to aim with compared to the Ariska, Mosin and Kar98.
I was wondering why there are so many high-ranked players and players with the 10th level of prestige. I was playing on a server just a while ago and I seemed to rank up extremely fast. I thought it was a glitch. It took me a while but exited, refreshed the serverlist and for once in my life, read the servernames. Apparently server admins can set the amount of XP the player gains when he gets a kill. This results in servers where you gain monster amounts of XP, like 10000XP for just 1 single kill. So called "Fast-Ranking Servers". Not just 1 but lots. I found at least 6 just by viewing the servers with more than 20 players. It was fine at first but when I reached the highest rank, it sucked the fun right out of it. Getting to the 10th level of prestige is just a matter of hours now. Besides, what's the point of the prestige levels anyways? 5 custom slots is more than enough. I guess people like the fancy insignia's. Conclusion: In these crazy times, even the server admins are cheating as well. As far as you could call it cheating. Maybe it's just me and I should read server names more often.
I guess there are many ways of looking at it. I never prestiged and I just played on bolt only servers (so it probably took me a little longer). As you noted the leveling up just gives you extra custom slots and a fancy icon next to your name. I guess kids like this stuff. I find it silly that I have to "level up" just to gain the proper weapon for the nationality I am portraying in the game. As far as the Admins they are just tryig to get traffic on their server(s). At least those people advertise their server for what it is. The people who payed extra for the double points are the ones who really got the raw deal. I don't agree with the practice (money making venture on Treyarch/Activisions part), but still those customers basically got a virtual slap to the face for the extra money they laid out. The 1.2 patch is supposed to correct the level-up servers, but I would have to say the damage is already done. It's not like lvl 10 prestige players can drop the A-bomb.
I also like this. I play this on xbox live. Im prestige 1. But i like medal of honor spearhead more. Its modfriendly.
